Online streaming giant, Netflix, has dropped its official trailer for the upcoming Over the Moon animated film. Based on the trailer, it appears to be a very good and heartwarming animated film yet again from Netflix. It feels like a Disney-created movie not just because of the plot but also because of the overall animation and color of the film, but it isn't. Though the director behind it, at some point, worked for Disney's big hits and maybe that's why.
Over the Moon is directed by Disney's long-time animator Glen Keane who worked on the animation for The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Tarzan, and Tangled. The movie is also in collaboration with Pearl Studios, the same company behind the Abominable animated film.
As for the cast of Over the Moon, it is also star studded. There's John Cho, Kimiko Glen, Sandra Oh, Ruthie Ann Miles, and Ken Jeong with new comer Cathy Ang who voices Fei Fei, the protagonist of the film.
Over the Moon synopsis:
Fueled with determination and a passion for science, a bright young girl builds a rocket ship to the moon to prove the existence of a legendary Moon Goddess. There she ends up on an unexpected quest and discovers a whimsical land of fantastical creatures."
As of the moment, there is no exact release date yet for this animated film except that it's coming this Fall of 2020 according to Netflix.
